TUCKER TIME // preserved lemons
There is nothing better than lemons picked from your own trees, but sometimes you need to find new ways to use them all. It's always great to cut a fresh lemon when cooking or to feature them in a bowl as a great display in your home.
An alternative is juicing them, then pouring it into plastic bottles and freezing it. When you need fresh lemon juice, just remove from the freezer and place on the kitchen counter to defrost, then refrigerate once opened.
I thought I would try preserving lemons for the first time which is basically slicing them thin and layering with sea salt and filling the jar with the juice. I've just put them in the cupboard so they should be ready in a week and can apparently store for months. I am so excited to see the results and start experimenting!
